Your Tree of Life Gift Will Be Matched to Support the Benevolent Care Fund!
“There are not enough words to express my tearful thanks to the UMRC-Porter Hills Foundation’s Benevolent Care Fund for the care of my wife these past several years.
I don’t know what we would have done without this financial assistance.”
This husband’s expression of gratitude illustrates the very real and personal impact of Benevolent Care for our residents. When his wife required additional care as her dementia progressed, the couple’s savings dwindled quickly.
But thanks to our friends and donors—like you—who support the Benevolent Care Fund, this couple was able to remain in the Brio Living Services community they call home. Your caring helps us make a life-changing difference for qualified residents who outlive their savings.
Nearly twenty years ago at our Chelsea Retirement Community campus, the Foundation began its Tree of Life initiative during the holidays to help support the Benevolent Care Fund, the Foundation’s cornerstone. Since then, the Tree of Life has become a highly anticipated event and has grown to include other Brio communities, including Cook Valley Estates, Porter Hills Village, Meadowlark Retirement Village, and The Cedars of Dexter.
You can make a Tree of Life gift of $45 or more in honor or in memory of a cherished loved one. In doing so, an ornament with that person’s name is hung on the Tree of Life in the community you specify. What a lovely way to honor and remember those you love, while supporting the older adults we serve through the Benevolent Care Fund!
Best of all this year, Tree of Life gifts on the east and west will be DOUBLED, making your gift go TWICE as far! This is thanks to an anonymous donor for our east-side Benevolent Care Fund, and a generous grant of $10,000 from Huntington Bank, matching gifts on the west side.
If you’re thinking about the perfect present for that person who has everything, a Tree of Life gift might be just the ticket! You can make a secure online donation or email Advancement@UMRCPH.org for more information. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from the UMRC-Porter Hills Foundation!
