“YOU Make a Difference!”  Brio Living Services Celebrates Nurses during National Nurses Month!

“YOU Make a Difference” is this year’s theme for National Nurses Month. At Brio Living Services, we are grateful for the incredible difference and fundamental impact our nurses make through their dedication and caring service to older adults.

May is designated National Nurses Month to honor the birthday (May 12) of Florence Nightingale, a British nurse who helped care for wounded soldiers during the Crimean War in the 1850s. She is recognized as the founder of modern nursing and was devoted to elevating the profession of nursing and improving the hospital environment through her practices and writings.

As National Nurses Week wraps up today, we honor the dedicated nurses who care for older adults across the Brio Living Services organization. Our nurses play a vital role in caring for thousands of older adults each year, from our skilled nursing centers at Chelsea Retirement Community, Porter Hills Village, and Green House® Homes; to our five PACE (Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly) centers across the state; to Home Health Care, Emmanuel Hospice, and more.

Trisha Watkins, Nursing Home Administrator at Porter Hills Village, is thankful for the devoted nurses and caregivers on her team who provide care for older adults: “I know that in our geographic area, there are many organizations that employ nurses, but our team chooses to be HERE and provide amazing love and care to our residents and elders. Through COVID, the staffing crisis, and constant changes in healthcare today, our nurses are committed, and I am very grateful for them. It is a privilege to be part of something that makes a difference.”

Be a part of our Brio Living Services team and love your career!
